BOATING GUIDELINES

Boats equipped with sink drains or flush toilets are barred unless the drains and toilets are sealed, inoperable, or are designed so that no waste can be discharged into the lakes.

Boats must be at least 12 feet long, 42 inches wide, and have 12 inches of freeboard at idle speed. Multi-hulled boats must have solid and fixed decking. Engine noise must not exceed 75 decibels at a distance of 50 feet with the engine running at 80% of redline RPM. All engines must be unmodified, standard equipment.

Engines must be a 4-stroke or if it’s a 2-stroke it must be direct fuel injected and fuel emissions level 48 or below.

Touring and recreation style kayaks, at least 10 feet long with seating for all passengers inside the boat, are allowed.
- No inflatable vessels are allowed.

Sit on-top kayaks are not allowed; sit-inside kayaks are allowed.

Alcohol is not permitted on boats or marina at Diamond Valley Lake.

All boats must carry approved life jackets for each person aboard. Type B fire extinguishers are required on boats where a fire hazard could be expected from the motors or the fuel system.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California can close the lake at any time. The number of boats permitted on the lake will be determined by lake elevation, public safety considerations, and water quality concerns.

The speed limit for all watercraft on Diamond Valley Lake is 25mph. The maximum speed for boats within 200 feet of the shore, dams, other operational structures and in marina areas is 5mph.

Pets are not allowed.

All boats must receive an MWD inspection sticker before getting onto Diamond Valley Lake. Inspections will be done at Diamond Valley Lake but it is recommended that your boat be inspected prior to arrival.

Must have the following for boat inspection: type 4 throw cushion, ski flag,horn/whistle, life jackets for all on board, fire extinguisher, oar, current registration.

PROTECT OUR WATERS
All vessels must be CLEAN, drained, & DRY prior to being allowed to launch at Diamond Valley Lake. This is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY.
This policy is in place to protect the lake from destructive and costly infestations of Quagga and Zebra Mussels.
NO DOGS
We love dogs, but the area surrounding Diamond Valley Lake is a wildlife refuge (Southwestern Riverside County Multi-Species Reserve) which legally requires a no dogs policy. Thank you for your cooperation!

Only park at the Marina to access the Wildflower Trail and for Hiking.

There is no Wildflower Trail access through other trails. No trespassing.

Restrooms for Trail visitors is only available at the Marina.

Please stay in your vehicles driving up to the Marina. The area surrounding the road is a Multi-Species Reserve.

Drones are not allowed.

We love dogs, but they are not allowed at the Diamond Valley Lake area, because this is a wildlife reserve. Thank you for your understanding.
